HAMDEN — David Marshall was greeted by joyous teammates with
arms raised for the customary goal celebration Saturday at the TD
Banknorth Sports Center — the 68th such gathering triggered
by Marshall since his arrival at Quinnipiac.
As the rest of the Bobcats embraced, senior Bryan Leitch skated
toward the referee and asked for the puck, which he handed over to
Marshall. This moment was a bit more special. Marshall had broken
the school’s career record for goals at the Division I
level.
Afterward, Quinnipiac coach Rand Pecknold reflected on the
occasion.
