After losing some of the program’s best players, the
Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team will be looking to veteran
leadership and its 13 freshmen to fill some huge holes this
season.
Amongst the former Bobcats is the 2008-09 NCAA Division I scoring
leader Bryan Leitch, who had 59 points for the Bobcats scoring 12
goals and notching 47 assists. QU also lost David Marshall, who
finished his career as Quinnipiac’s Division I leader in
goals scored. Also gone is Captain Dan Henningson, who led the
ECAC’s top power-play unit, and starting goaltender Bud
Fisher.
Another key loss for the Bobcats is last year’s standout
freshman goaltender Nick Pisellini. Pisellini stepped in for a
struggling Fisher and was dominant. In a small sample size of his
talent, Pisellini posted 1.38 goals against average and .948 save
percentage in 11 games, eight of them for starts. The standout
goaltender returned home to be with his terminally ill father.
