"Bobcats Unleashed in HD" Series to Premier on NESN

HAMDEN, Conn. - The first segment of the Quinnipiac produced series, "Bobcats Unleashed In HD" will air on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. on the New England Sports Network (NESN). The thirty-minute program will lead into the men's ice hockey team's game against ECAC Hockey opponent Harvard University, scheduled to start at 7:37 p.m. "Bobcats Unleashed In HD" highlights the Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team, strength & conditioning and basketball recruiting.

" 'Bobcats Unleashed In HD' has been made possible by the professional HD production by Peter Sumby, our School of Communications students and NESN," director of athletics Jack McDonald said. "We are very pleased to be able to bring our athletic highlights in high definition to our fans, families and alumni, as well as all NESN viewers on cable and satellite."

In the first segment, coaches and players of Quinnipiac's basketball and hockey teams discuss the challenges of recruiting as well as the importance of the strength and conditioning program. Midnight Madness is also showcased and highlighted as a starting point for the upcoming 2009-10 season. Additional segments will air in February and April of 2010.

The show was produced by the Office of Public Affairs and the School of Communications, and was produced in high definition for NESN's five-million viewers across New England. The show was produced and directed by Peter Sumby, Associate Director of the Ed McMahon Mass Communications Center and was hosted by Jayme Parker, Bill Mecca, Senior Associate Director of Athletics, and Bill Schweizer, Media Coordinator. The crew was comprised of a group of professional freelancers and School of Communications' students including Stephanie Adomovicius, Matt Andrew, Joseph Carugati, Christine Casinelli, Curtis Conroy, Matt Durrigan, Noah Galumbo, Sam Goldenshtein, Meghan Hakim, Nick Johnson, Stephanie Malone, Joseph Micucci, Chelsea Naso, Jason Slater, and Kristen Swartz.

"Quinnipiac has been a great partner with NESN for the past 8 years," NESN Director of Programming Len Mead said. "The addition of 'Bobcats Unleashed In HD' allows the school to spread its wings even further and enhances the quality college sports programming NESN can offer to New England fans."

In addition to its first airing on Friday, Nov. 13, the show will also air on the following dates and times: Nov. 18 at 4 p.m., Nov. 20 at 2:30 p.m., Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m., Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. , Nov. 28 at 2:30 p.m. and Dec. 3 at 4 p.m.
