Beaudoin Candidate for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award

OVERLAND PARK, KS. -- Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey senior Jean-Marc Beaudoin (St. Paul, Alb.) was announced as one of 20 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey players selected as a candidate for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - classroom, character, community and competition.

The 20 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through
the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the
official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide
voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one
finalist who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of
classroom, character, community and competition.
Beaudoin had a break-out year in 2008-09, setting career-highs in
goals (13), assists (14) and points (27). Last year, he was given
the team's Seventh Player Award, which is given to an individual
who has shown the most growth as a member of the men's ice hockey
team in his time at Quinnipiac. In addition, he was honored with
the Coaches Award, given to the student-athlete who exemplifies
everything that Quinnipiac men's hockey embodies. Beaudoin carried
the highest grade point average among all sophomores, juniors and
seniors on the Bobcats' roster, which in turned earned him the
first-ever Quinnipiac Ice Hockey Academic Award after the 2008-09
season. Beaudoin was also the recipient of the first-ever
Quinnipiac Ice Hockey Academic Award for the 2008-09 season after
carrying the highest grade point average on the team. He was named
to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic team during the 2007-08 and 2008-09
seasons.
