Team Notes: Quinnipiac Takes on Air Force

The first round of the UConn Hockey Classic produced two
overtime games, with the Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team and
No. 11 Air Force advancing to the Championship Game on Tuesday,
Dec. 30 at 7:15 p.m. at Mark E. Freitas Ice Forum in Storrs, Conn.
The Bobcats trailed Merrimack 2-0 after the first period, but came
all the way back to win in overtime on a goal by Brandon Wong. Air
Force also led 2-0 before a pair of unanswered goals by the host
Huskies force overtime. The Falcons won in a shootout, 3-2. A live
video feed by B2TV.com will be available for the game in addition
to live audio and live stats.
On The Air
Don Boyle will have the play-by-play for tonight’s
Championship Game at the Toyota UConn Hockey Classic, joined
alongside by Chris Kotsopoulos with the color analysis. All
Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey home games will be available on
the Bobcats Radio Network on flagship WQUN 1220 AM (Hamden/New
Haven), ESPN Radio 1410 (Hartford), WLIS 1420 AM (Old Saybrook),
WMRD 1150 AM (Middletown) and www.quinnipiacbobcats.com.
All-Time Against Air Force
Quinnipiac is 3-6-0 all-time against Air Force. The Falcons have
won the last three meetings between the two teams, including a
weekend sweep last season. The Bobcats are 2-0 all-time at home
against the Falcons, with their last win coming on Oct. 11, 2003
when Quinnipiac won 4-3 in overtime at the Northford Ice Pavillion.
