Team Notes: Quinnipiac Returns to Action at UConn Classic

The Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team hits the ice for the first time since Dec. 5 when they travel in-state to take part in the UConn Classic hosted by the University of Connecticut at Freitas Ice Forum in Storrs, Conn. Quinnipiac will square off against Merrimack College in the first game of the tournament on Monday, Dec. 29 at 4 p.m. Following the game between the Bobcats and the Warriors, host UConn will play Air Force at 7:15 p.m. The losers of both games will play in the Consolation Game on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 4 p.m. while the winners play for the UConn Classic Championship at 7:15 p.m. The Bobcats enter the game at 7-6-1 overall and have won five of their last seven games.

On The Air
Don Boyle will have the play-by-play for both of the Bobcats’ games at the UConn Classic, joined alongside by Chris Kotsopoulos with the color analysis. All Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey home games will be available on the Bobcats Radio Network on flagship WQUN 1220 AM (Hamden/New Haven), ESPN Radio 1410 (Hartford), WLIS 1420 AM (Old Saybrook), WMRD 1150 AM (Middletown) and www.quinnipiacbobcats.com.

All-Time Against Merrimack
Quinnipiac and Merrimack have played each other twice all-time with both cames coming during the 2003-04 season. Merrimack won the first game of the weekend series, 4-1 on Nov. 28 in North Andover, Mass., before Quinnipiac bounced back with a 3-2 decision on the following night to salvage the split.
