'Cats Hope for Better Trip this Year

HAMDEN — Just like it did exactly one year ago, the
Quinnipiac men’s hockey team is preparing to open its season
with a pair of games in the Midwest. The Bobcats just don’t
want a similar result.
Last October, a veteran Quinnipiac squad went to Colorado for two
games against Air Force and lost both. Today, the Bobcats boarded a
jet bound for Omaha, Neb., to take part in this weekend’s
Maverick Stampede. They face Union Friday afternoon at 6 and either
Nebraska-Omaha or American International on Saturday night.
Still a team loaded with experienced players, Quinnipiac lost a
sizeable chunk of its offense to graduation.
