Steelheads Player Profile: Ben Nelson

The Idaho Statesman, as part of its coverage of the Idaho Steelheads, is providing player profiles in its daily edition. Today's player profile featuring forward Ben Nelson, who played at Quinnipiac.
BEN NELSON, FORWARD
Height/weight: 5-foot-10, 200 pounds
Hometown: Spokane
Last played: Finished his four-year college
career last season at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. Also
played in seven regular-season games with the ECHL's South Carolina
Stingrays, scoring four goals.
Describe yourself as a hockey player: "Offensive.
I try to score some points and help some other people score some
points. Those are my strengths, and that's why I'm here, so
hopefully I can continue to do that."
Off the ice: "I like to fish and camp and do the
outdoors thing. I think this is a good area for that." He was born
and raised in Spokane, but had never visited Boise until becoming a
Steelhead.
What coach Derek Laxdal says about Nelson: "He's
scored at the junior level and college level. Ben's a guy we're
looking forward to having come in and be a great face-off guy and a
guy who can put some points on the board for us."
