Team Notes: Bobcats Host Huskies

The Quinnipiac University men’s ice hockey team opens
their 2008-09 home schedule on Saturday, Nov. 1 when they host the
University of Connecticut at 7 p.m. at the TD Banknorth Sports
Center in Hamden, Conn. Quinnipiac enters the game with an overall
record of 1-2-0 while UConn is 2-3-0.
On The Air
The “Voice of the Bobcats” Bill Schweizer will be
handling the play-by-play duties on Saturday night’s live
broadcast on WCTX/MyTV9. Former Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey
captain and former women’s ice hockey head coach Michael
Barrett will provide the color commentary while longtime Quinnipiac
athletic administrator and on-air personality Bill Mecca will be on
the sidelines. On the air, Don Boyle will have the play-by-play,
joined by former NHL veteran Chris Kotsopolous with the color
analysis. Saturday’s game, as well as all Quinnipiac
men’s ice hockey games, will be available on the Bobcats
Sports Network on flagship WQUN 1220 AM (Hamden/New Haven), ESPN
Radio 1410 (Hartford), WLIS 1420 AM (Old Saybrook), WMRD 1150 AM
(Middletown) and www.quinnipiacbobcats.com.
Series History
Quinnipiac is 13-10-2 all-time against UConn, with the Bobcats
winning the last two meetings between the two teams, March 3, 2005
(4-2) and Jan. 15, 2005 (4-1), with both games played in Storrs,
Conn. The Bobcats hold a 7-5-1 mark at home against the Huskies.
This is UConn’s first visit to the TD Banknorth Sports
Center.
