Craig Joins ECHL's Steelheads
Idaho Steelheads Head Coach Derek Laxdal announced today that
ECHL All-Star Matt Craig, a former standout at
Quinnipiac, has agreed to terms with the team for the 2007-08
season.
"...The addition of Craig gives us an offensive attack," said
Laxdal. "(Craig is a) high-end All-Star center who we expect to
contribute greatly to our growing team."
Craig played the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons with the Utah
Grizzlies recording 86 points (42g, 44a) in 112 games. He saw
action in each of his two ECHL seasons with the AHL's Manitoba
Moose playing a total of 11 games at the triple-A level. The 6-0,
185-pounder was selected to play on the ECHL's 2006 National
Conference All-Star Team in his first professional season. He
ranked second among league rookies with 19 goals and fourth in
scoring with 32 points in 30 games and among all players was fourth
in goals and tied for 10th in scoring. The 25-year-old, London
Ontario native played four seasons at Quinnipiac from 2001-2005
tallying 133 points (60g, 73a) in 140 games.
