Quinnipiac Announces TV Schedule

HAMDEN, CT -- Quinnipiac University today announced its men's hockey television schedule for the 2007-08 season, including a total of six games to be broadcast live. Five games will appear on the New England Sports Network (NESN), while one game will appear locally on WCTX/MyTV9. All of the broadcasts feature in-conference opponents from ECAC Hockey, with each game being played at the TD Banknorth Sports Center.

"Quinnipiac's 2007-08 basketball and ice hockey television schedules are our best since elevating to Division I nine years ago," said Jack McDonald, director of athletics and recreation. "Our coaches, student-athletes and fans are looking forward to being televised by our broadcast partners to millions of viewers."

Quinnipiac will televise its first broadcast of the season with NESN on Saturday, Nov. 24 when the Bobcats welcome Princeton University at 3:30 p.m. The Bobcats next will televise games versus Harvard University (Friday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m.) and Dartmouth University (Saturday, Jan. 6 at 3 p.m.) during the first week of 2008, also on NESN. Quinnipiac's new cross-town rivalry with Yale University will be shown locally on  WCTX/MyTV9 on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m., and two days later (Sunday, Feb. 10 at 12:30 p.m.) Quinnipiac will take to the ice against Brown University on NESN. The Bobcats final regular-season televised contest will take place Sunday, Feb. 24 at 12:30 p.m. on NESN against Colgate University.

In addition, all home and away regular-season games can either be seen via live and on-demand video streaming at QuinnipiacBobcats.com, or heard live on the Bobcats Radio Network (AM 1220 WQUN flagship).

The "Voice of the Bobcats" Bill Schweizer will provide the play-by-play for all broadcasts, while Rich Coppola will serve as color analyst. In addition, Bill Mecca will host the pre-game, between-period and ice-level segments.

NESN, New England's most-watched sports network, is owned by the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins and delivered to over 4 million homes throughout the six-state region.  The definitive source for New England sports programming, NESN will deliver live coverage of over 100 college sporting events this season featuring almost every major school in the region with programming from every major conference.  In 2006, NESN became the first and only regional sports network to originate all of its MLB and NHL games in high definition (HD). NESN also produces all studio programming in HD including the network's popular daily sports news and highlights program SportsDesk.

MyTV9, formerly WCTX-TV, made its debut on Sept. 5, 2006 as a part of MyNetworkTV. MyTV9 is Connecticut's broadcast home of Yankees baseball. It also airs syndicated programming, including Scrubs and One on One. MyTV9 also provides two live, local newscasts: Non-Stop News at 10 on MyTV9, and a live 7 a.m. version of Good Morning Connecticut. Both news shows are produced by sister station WTNH-TV, News Channel 8.
