Milton Keynes Lightning Secure Services of Ben Foster

Milton Keynes Lightning have secured the services of 24-year-old American forward Ben Foster for the 2017/18 season.

Foster has spent the past four seasons attending Princeton University, where he featured in 115 NCAA games for the Tigers, scoring 16 goals and 31 points.

“I’m delighted to add this hungry NCAA forward to our line up for the coming season.” Lightning head coach Pete Russell said.

“He joins us from a really good NCAA collage in Princeton and has had a great hockey education in junior and college. My plan was always to bring in at least two NCAA players to our roster – and in Ben we have the first.

“Ben is a strong skater with a decent skill set and plays with energy. He can can play either on the wing or in centre and is a 200ft player. He has good size and uses it well while forechecking, in the corners and going to the net. He’s a really smart player and finds good spots.

“When I communicated to Ben’s coaches about him it was all positive and they believe he has more offensive talents than his numbers show so far.

“With this signing it adds more depth to our line up and we are absolutely delighted to have him."
