Blaze Add Kalemba

Bloomington Blaze coach Paul Gardner said Thursday that the teams has signed former Princeton standout Zane Kalemba.

Kalemba, 25, was a second-team all-American at Princeton as a junior and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, when he set single-season school records for wins (22), goals-against average (1.82) and save percentage (.932).

He was cut from a crowded Dayton training camp earlier this month and played with three ECHL teams last season.

“He comes highly recommended from a couple of coaches in the league,” Gardner said. “I like what I saw in practice today.”
