BLOOMINGTON — Zane Kalemba surely wondered what he had gotten himself into after his first night in a Bloomington Blaze uniform.

The day after signing with the team he was inserted into the home net and was peppered with 58 shots. He recorded 52 saves that night, a high-water mark for Central Hockey League goalies this season, in the first of three straight losses.

Things have settled down for the former Princeton star. He has won four of his last six starts and has taken over as the No. 1 goalie in the wake of Marco Emond’s retirement two weeks ago.
