Fedun Enrolls with Oilers

The following article featuring Princeton defenseman Taylor Fedun appeared in the March 9 issue of the Edmonton Journal.

The Edmonton Oilers have dipped their toe into the college free-agent pool to sign local defenceman Taylor Fedun, who was the captain at Princeton University this season and attended the Vancouver Canucks' development camp this past summer.

"It's a cliche, but it's a dream come true to play for your hometown team," said Fedun, 22, who is graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering and will be reporting to the Oilers' American Hockey League farm team in Oklahoma City some time after he writes two mid-terms today.

The six-foot-one, 210-pound blueliner went to Strathcona High School and was part of the strong Southside Athletic Club program that sent Cam Ritchie, Lee Jubinville, Fedun and Scott McNeill to play at Princeton for former Edmontonian and Tigers head coach Guy Gadowsky.
