Parros Sidelined
Anaheim Ducks forward George Parros, a former Princeton
standout, had laser surgery on his left eye Monday to correct
a torn retina. Parros suffered the injury last Friday when he was
hit with a deflected puck at the club’s practice in
Detroit.
He is expected to make a full recovery and return to game action
in approximately four weeks.
Parros was previously hit in the face with a puck that deflected
off a goal post just before a practice October 26 in Minnesota. He
suffered cuts above the cheek and near his mouth and had to receive
stitches.
The 31-year-old Parros has a point in 11 games this season with a
plus-two rating and 21 penalty minutes.
