PRINCETON -- The Princeton men's hockey team today announced its finalized 2010-11 schedule. The Tigers will play 29 regular-season games, highlighted by trips to the Denver Cup Classic at Thanksgiving and the Mariucci Classic in late December.

Princeton will play six of its seven non-league games at tournament events this season, with the first two coming at the annual Ivy Shootout. This year's Shootout will take place at Dartmouth and feature predetermined match-ups. The Tigers will open against defending ECAC and Ivy League Champion Yale and also face Brown over the final weekend of October.

The Tigers' 22-game league schedule will start with a midweek game at Hobey Baker Rink against Quinnipiac on Nov. 1. Princeton will then play six more league games in the month, visiting Harvard and Dartmouth, hosting St. Lawrence and Clarkson, and traveling to Cornell and Colgate in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving.

In the past few seasons Princeton has played its travel-partner Quinnipiac around the Thanksgiving holiday but this season the Tigers will travel to Denver for the Denver Cup Classic. Princeton last played in the event in the 2005-06 season and was the tournament runner-up after beating the host Pioneers in the opening game. This year's event features predetermined match-ups. The Tigers will play the hosts on Friday and then take on Providence on Day 2. The other team in the tournament is Miami. Princeton last met Providence early in the 2002-03 season.

Princeton will return to campus and play three of four at home over the first two weekends of December leading into the Holiday break. Princeton hosts Rensselaer and Union the first weekend of December and then hosts Harvard on Dec. 10, before a Sunday faceoff at Quinnipiac. The home game with Harvard was moved from early February to accommodate the Crimson's Beanpot schedule.

The Tigers return from break with the Mariucci Classic on the final two days of 2011 in Minnesota. Princeton will meet Northeastern in the opening game of the tournament and then face either Minnesota or Niagara the following day on New Year's Eve. Princeton last played at the Mariucci Classic in the 2003-04 season, falling to both Minnesota and Miami in the event. The Tigers and Northeastern played a memorable game in the opening round of the 2008 RPI Tournament when Princeton was ranked sixth nationally and Northeastern was fourth. Princeton won that game 5-3.

Princeton's intersession schedule continues over the next two weekends with league series. Princeton travels to Brown and Yale the first week of January and then hosts Colgate and Cornell before Princeton takes its second long break of the season, this one for first semester final exams.

The Tigers come out of the break on Jan. 31 with a home game against Connecticut, and then play seven straight league games leading into the postseason. Princeton hosts Dartmouth on Feb. 3, and then visits Clarkson, St. Lawrence, Union and Rensselaer before closing the season at home against Yale and Brown on Feb. 24 and 25.
