Kalemba Embarks on Professional Career

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL) have signed Princeton goaltender Zane Kalemba to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO).

Kalemba, 24, is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound goaltender from Saddle Brook, New Jersey. He recently completed a four-year collegiate hockey  career at Princeton University. This season with the Tigers, he posted an 8-12-3 record with a 3.19 goals-against average and.898 save percentage. Over the course of his collegiate career, Kalemba posted a 57-44-5 record in 108 games with a 2.46 goals-against average and.912 save percentage. He is Princeton's all-time career leader in games played, save percentage, wins and shutouts.

Last season was a banner year for Kalemba as he went 22-10-1 with a 1.82 goals-against average and.932 save percentage, setting Princeton single-season records for wins, goals-against average and save percentage. He was named ECAC and Ivy League Player of the Year, earned first team All-ECAC and All-Ivy Honors, was a second-team All-American and became the second Hobey Baker Award nominee in Princeton's school history.
