forward Kevin Westgarth's popularity.
Westgarth was named New Hampshire Union Leader Fan Favorite Award winner last night prior to the Monarchs home game with Portland. Westgarth becomes the first repeat winner of the award, claiming last year's honor as well.
"With the role I have to play, people tend to like that. I'm so honored and humbled to win it. Especially knowing our guys who play a great game," Westgarth said. "It's a really nice feeling to get that back from the people that let us do what we do." Westgarth's fighting numbers are down this season, but not his effectiveness as an enforcer. Westgarth still patrols the ice and dishes out the punishment with fierce body checks.
