PRINCETON - The Princeton men's hockey team concludes its
five-game intersession schedule this weekend when Union and
Rensselaer visit Baker Rink for a pair of league contests.
Princeton enters the weekend unbeaten in four and with consecutive
wins over Cornell and Quinnipiac.
The Tigers' current four-game unbeaten streak is its longest such
stretch since early February of last season when the Tigers won
four straight games. The Tigers are 3-0-1 in their last four with
all three wins coming against ranked foes. The Tigers went into the
holiday break with a 3-2 win at then ninth-ranked UMass Lowell.
Princeton then was off for 17 days before returning to action at
the Florida College Classic. Princeton opened the tournament with a
6-6 tie against Maine and then defeated fourth-ranked Cornell 3-2
in the tournament's third-place game. Princeton returned to its
home ice for its first home game in six weeks on Monday night and
edged 11th-ranked Quinnipiac 4-3 in overtime.
Dan Bartlett provided the offensive spark for the Tigers in the
win over their travel partner as he scored three goals and set up a
fourth Princeton goal in the 4-3 Tiger triumph. Bartlett scored his
first two goals in the second period to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
After the Bobcats trimmed the lead to a goal, Bartlett set up Mike
Kramer to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead in the second period.
Quinnipiac got one goal back late in the second and evened the
score in the third, but Bartlett again scored in the extra session
to complete the hat trick and give Princeton the win. Kramer also
finished the game with multiple points, garnering an assist in
addition to Princeton's third goal in the victory.
