PRINCETON - The Princeton men's hockey team returns to Baker
Rink on Monday night for its first home game in six weeks on Monday
night when it hosts first-place Quinnipiac in league play at 7
p.m.
Princeton enters the game with a three-game unbeaten streak. The
Tigers went into the holiday break with a 3-2 win at then
ninth-ranked UMass Lowell. Princeton then was off for 17 days
before returning to action at last week's Florida College Classic.
Princeton opened the tournament with a 6-6 tie against Maine and
then defeated fourth-ranked Cornell 3-2 in the tournament's
third-place game.
Tuesday's 6-6 shootout with Maine saw the Tigers spend most of the
game playing catch-up after Maine opened up leads of 2-0, 4-1 and
6-4 throughout the course of the game. Princeton's largest deficit
in the game was three goals early in the second period but a Maine
five-minute major in the period changed the complexion of the game
as the Tigers converted with three goals in the ensuing power play.
Even at 4-4, Maine went ahead with a late second-period and early
third-period goal, but the Tigers scored twice in less than two
minutes midway through the third period to deadlock the game at
6-6.
