When the Princeton Tigers skated off the ice after a 5-1 loss to
North Dakota in the first round of last year’s NCAA
Tournament — their first appearance in the Big Dance in a
decade — they knew it was on the right track to becoming a
first-rate program.
Despite the lopsided score, the Tigers — to a man —
felt they deserved a better fate and realized they had the talent
and ability to make a trip back to the NCAA tournament.
The current players who experienced that defeat will need to use
the hunger and disappointment as a motivating factor in this
year’s tournament to hopefully add its first NCAA postseason
win to their resumes.
