Kalemba Adds to List of Honors
PRINCETON -- Days after being named to the ECAC Hockey Preseason all-league team, Inside College Hockey chose Zane Kalemba Princeton senior goaltender as a preseason All-America.
The senior was one of six named a preseason first-team All-America. Kalemba was joined by Air Force junior Jacques Lamoureux, Minnesota sophomore Jordan Schroeder, Colgate senior David McIntyre, Notre Dame junior Ian Cole, North Dakota senior Chay Genoway. Earlier in the week, he was named a pre-season all-ECAC Hockey selection both by coaches and league media members and broadcasters.
Kalemba was 22-10-1 last season with a 1.82 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage, setting Princeton single-season records in all three categories. He is also the reigning ECAC and Ivy League Player of the Year and was a Hobey Baker Top 10 finalist last season.
While the non-Ivy Division I teams get their season underway next weekend, Kalemba and the Tigers open with exhibition games the weekend of Oct. 23-25 and host Brown and Yale the following weekend to open the regular season.
