Hagel Inks Deal, Heads to Reading

READING, PA -- The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that the organization has signed former Princeton forward Kyle Hagel to an ECHL contract.

In twenty-three games with the Fresno Falcons this season, Hagel (6’0/205) (23), who is in his first year of pro hockey, scored five goals, picked up three assists (eight points) and racked up ninety-seven penalty minutes. Hagel, who currently leads the ECHL with seventeen fighting majors, became a free agent when the Falcons ceased operations earlier this month.

Prior to turning pro, Hagel played four seasons at Princeton University, where he scored a total of 12 goals and assisted on 12 others (24 points) in 117 total games.
