Team Notes: Tigers Open Season at Showcase at Meehan

The puck drops on the 2008-09 Princeton men’s hockey
season this weekend with the Showdown at Meehan. Princeton faces
Brown in the regular-season opener on Friday night, then faces the
Ontario Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon in an
exhibition game.
The Second Showdown
This year’s Showdown at Meehan is the second of a three-year
agreement between Princeton, Brown and Yale to play this showcase.
The tournament moves to Princeton to open the 2009-10 season.

Tonight’s game kicks off the 106th season of varsity hockey
at Princeton. The first game was played on Nov. 30, 1900 against
the Drisler School. Princeton did not compete for two seasons
during World War II.
