Wheeling Deals for Young
Victoria, BC --The Victoria Salmon Kings Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manger Dan Belisle announced today that former Princeton defenseman Seamus Young has been traded to the Wheeling Nailers for financial considerations.
The Salmon Kings, proud affiliates of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, moved the 24-year-old Dedham, Massachusetts native at his request.
"Seamus is a very talented young player, and consistently performed for us last season," Belisle said, "but he asked to be traded for personal reasons. It is important for the young man to be closer to his home so he can help deal with a family matter. In the best interest of Seamus and the ECHL, we accommodated his request. It is the right thing to do.
"We are all sorry to see Seamus go, but we wish him the best in the upcoming year," Belisle added.
Young played in all 72 games for the team last season and collected 22 points (9g-13a). He also played in all six Salmon King playoff games notching 2 points.
