Leblanc is Pick of the Litter for Habs

The following article featuring former Harvard standout Louis Leblanc appeared in the October 27 issue of the Hamilton Spectator.

He’s 20 years old. He hasn’t played a game of hockey in six months. He’s about to take a big step up from every level of competition he’s faced before, even on the elite international stage. Sanity would suggest some of the soaring expectations of him should be tempered by a notch or 10.

“He’s not a saviour,” insists his coach in a way that’s insulating rather than insulting.

Perhaps. But for a fan base and an entire province that’s always clamouring for a new homegrown hero to play on the team that defines them — a struggling team that could use a saviour right about now — he’s the best hope that’s out there.
