Lannon Embarks for Finland
KalPa of SM-Liiga (Finland) announced Thursday the signing of
former Harvard standout Ryan Lannon to a contract for the reminder
of the 2010-11 season.
Lannon, who missed the last half of the 2009-10 campaign due to
injury, appeared in 11 games in the American Hockey League (AHL)
this season, competing with Lake Erie (seven games) and Worcester
(four games). He amassed two assists.
In 2009-10, Lannon competed in 27 contests with the Houston Aeros, scoring one goal and setting up one tally.
Lannon played 63 games with the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage in 2008-09, recording five assists and 33 penalty minutes.
In 2007-08, Lannon helped the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins advance to the 2008 Calder Cup finals, notching seven points (1-6=7) in 23 games.
Lannon, who played collegiately at Harvard, was Pittsburgh’s eighth-round draft pick (No. 239 overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
