Grumet-Morris Returns to Europe
Lørenskog (Norway) announced today that the team has signed former Harvard goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris.
A native of Evanston, Illinois, Grumet-Morris returns overseas after spending the 2010-11 campaign with Greenville of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and Connecticut of the American Hockey League (AHL). The sixth-year pro appeared in 24 games with Greenville, sporting a 2.32 goals-against average and .922 save percentage. Grumet-Morris mirrored those numbers with Connecticut, netting a GAA of 2.12 and save percentage of .923 with the Whale. He registered a GAA of 3.10 and save percentage of .890 in six playoff games with Connecticut.
A fifth-round draft pick (161st overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2002 NHL Draft, Grumet-Morris spent two campaigns in Europe, playing in Austria and Slovenia. He played 44 games with the Graz 99ers (Austria) in 2008-09, posting a GAA of 2.71 and save percentage of .917. In 2009-10, Grumet-Morris competed with HK Jesenice, playing 39 games while posting marks of 3.40 (GAA) and .901 (save percentage).
Prior to traveling to Europe, Grumet-Morris spent three campaigns competing in the Central Hockey (CHL), ECHL and AHL. He spent time in the CHL with Laredo; Cinncinnati in the ECHL; and San Antonio, Portland, Hamilton, Manitoba and Milwaukee of the AHL.
A member of the Crimson from 2001 through 2005, Grumet-Morris native posted a record of 63-40-9 in 114 appearances. He finished his collegiate career with a GAA of 2.25 and a save percentage of .924. Grumet-Morris posted 11 shutouts between the pipes for Harvard.
