Huxley Nets Pro Contract
TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans announced today the signing of former Harvard defenseman Chris Huxley.
A four-year starter at Harvard, the 5-foot-11, 202-pound Huxley, 24, was a key catalyst for the Crimson's power play, a role he could fill with the 2011-12 Titans.
"Chris is an excellent skater who can handle the puck and pass,'' said Titans head coach Vince Williams."This is first professional season, and I can see him helping us a great deal. He's a solid left-handed shooter.
''He's also good at helping kill penalties.''
Earning playing time as a freshman season, the native of Weymouth, Mass., played in 119 games in four seasons at Harvard, scoring 42 points (7 goals, 35 assists).
Before Harvard, Huxley played for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2006-07, scoring 17 points (3 goals, 14 assists).
