Welch Re-Assigned to Chicago
The Atlanta Thrashers have re-assigned former Harvard defenseman
Noah Welch to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League,
according to General Manager Rick Dudley.
Welch, who was recalled on Oct. 26, appeared in 18:39 of ice time
in one game for the Thrashers, a 6-4 win at the New York Rangers on
Oct. 27. Prior to his recall, Welch earned two assists in
seven games for Chicago.
The 6-4, 215-pound defenseman has appeared in 74 career NHL games
with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning
and Atlanta, earning nine points (four goals, five assists).
Welch has also tallied 66 points (17 goals, 49 assists) in 166 AHL
games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Rochester and Chicago.
