Islanders Send for Reese
The New York Islanders announced today that former Harvard
defenseman Dylan Reese has been recalled from the Bridgeport Sound
Tigers of the American Hockey League.
Reese, 26, currently leads all Sound Tigers defensemen in scoring
with nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 22 games. The
Pittsburgh, PA, native has also played in seven NHL games this
season with the Islanders; his third call-up of the season comes on
an emergency basis.
Reese made his National Hockey League debut with the Islanders
last year during his third professional season, netting four points
(two goals, two assists) in 19 games. After a four year collegiate
career at Harvard University, he was drafted by the New York
Rangers in the seventh round, 209th overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry
Draft. The Islanders acquired the 6-1, 201-pound blue-liner in a
trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 1, 2010.
