Thrashers Call on Welch

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled former Harvard
defenseman Noah Welch from the Chicago Wolves of the
American Hockey League, according to General Manager Rick
Dudley.
Welch, 28, has competed in all seven games for the Wolves this
season, recording two points (two assists). Both of
Welch’s assists came in a 4-3 victory over Milwaukee on
October 24.
The 6-4, 215-pound defenseman has appeared in 73 career NHL games
with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay
Lightning, earning nine points (four goals and five assists).
Welch has tallied 66 points (17 goals, 49 assists) in 166 AHL games
with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Rochester and Chicago.
