Harvard Optimistic After Minnesota Trip

It may not have featured the surreal outdoor atmosphere of hockey at Fenway Park [map], but if there’s any place in the United States that can run a close second it is in the state of Minnesota, where hockey owns near-religious status.

Harvard, which struggled (2-10-2, 2-5-2 ECAC) in the first half, showed signs of a resurgence over the weekend in the Gopher State, despite dropping 5-2 and 3-1 decisions to Minnesota.

“I think there’s reason for optimism. Our play lately has been much improved,” Harvard coach Ted Donato said. “We had a lot of young guys who had a good experience in the first part of the season and the break over the holidays was good for us. We came back and played well against Quinnipiac (3-1 Crimson win) and pretty well against a hot Minnesota team.
