Habs Cut Ties with Moore

MONTREAL — While the Montreal Canadiens were saying hello to a new group of recruits, general manager Pierre Gauthier said goodbye to some old warriors on Tuesday.

Gauthier said he told unrestricted free agents Dominic Moore, Marc-Andre Bergeron, Paul Mara and Glen Metropolit that their services were no longer required after their contracts expired on July 1.

With the exception of Mara, who injured his shoulder in January and underwent surgery in March, the players all played a role in the Canadiens’ playoff push and their subsequent march to the Eastern Conference final.
