Maki Secures Contract with Hannover

Former Harvard standout Ryan Maki has signed a one-year contract with the Hannover Scorpions (Germany), the team announced Thursday. Maki inked the contact after joining the Scorpions on a try-out agreement one week earlier.

Maki, who will play in Europe for the first time, spent the past three season with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL).  A year ago, the Medford, New Jersey native played in 61 games with the Admirals, netting six goals and nine assists. Maki posted 25 points (12g-13a) in his second professional season with Milwaukee (AHL) in 2008-09, scoring 10 more goals (12) and racking up 10 more assists (13) than as a rookie in 2007-08. He led the 2008-09 Admirals in plus/minus rating (+14), and appeared in all 11 of the club’s 2009 Calder Cup Playoff games.

Nashville's fifth choice, 176th overall (sixth round), in 2005 Entry Draft, the 6-2, 202-pound right wing was also Milwaukee’s (AHL) nominee for the AHL’s 2008-09 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award (Man of the Year).

Maki enjoyed four seasons with the Crimson, appearing in 129 collegiate contests from 2003-07. He amassed 72 points on 36 goals and 36 assists. Maki was a member of the Crimson's 2004 and 2006 ECAC Hockey Championship teams.
