Lannon Signs with Wild
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General
Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League
(NHL) club has signed defenseman Ryan Lannon to a one-year
contract.
Lannon, 26 (12/14/82), played 63 games with the American Hockey
League’s San Antonio Rampage in 2008-09, recording five
assists and 33 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-foot-2, 220-pound
native of Grafton, Mass., has posted 47 points (5-42=47) and 198
PIM in 280 games spanning four AHL seasons with
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and San Antonio. Lannon helped the Baby
Penguins advance to the 2008 Calder Cup finals, notching seven
points (1-6=7) in 23 games. Lannon, who played collegiately at
Harvard, was Pittsburgh’s eighth-round draft pick (No. 239
overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
