Carolina Ties Strong for Adams
The following article featuring former Harvard standout Craig Adams appeared May 18 on the News & Observer Web site.
By Luke DeCock
Hidden under Craig Adams' Pittsburgh jersey is one remnant of
his Carolina days — the hip protection on his hockey pants, a
slash of red attached to the top of his black Penguins pants.
CCM changed the way they make that part, and Adams never felt
comfortable in the new version, so he's carried the Carolina red
with him to Chicago (where it wasn't noticeable) and now to
Pittsburgh (where it is).
Adams joined the Penguins in March when they claimed him on
waivers from the Blackhawks, and he has appeared in all 13 of
Pittsburgh's playoff games going into Monday, scoring his first
career playoff goal in the Penguins' last game. (Although he was
denied a goal by the NHL in Game 7 of the 2006 Stanley Cup finals.)
