Blue Jackets Reassign MacDonald

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned former Harvard forward Craig MacDonald to the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Scott Howson announced.

MacDonald, 31, registered one goal and one assist for two points with a +1 plus/minus rating in eight games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has tallied 11-24-35 and 91 penalty minutes in 237 career NHL games with Carolina, Florida, Boston, Calgary, Chicago, Tampa Bay and Columbus. He also has collected 8-11-19 with 33 penalty minutes in 31 games with the Crunch this season. Hartford's third pick, 88th overall, in the 1996 Entry Draft, he has recorded 84-146-230 and 419 penalty minutes in 344 career AHL games with New Haven, Lowell, Omaha, Norfolk and Syracuse.
