Harvard's storied hockey history dates back to 1898, when the Crimson played their first game. Since then, there have been 22 Olympic selections, 27 All-American seasons and the second-most Hobey Baker Awards of any college with three.

Two Harvard players have hoisted the Stanley Cup - George Owns with the 1929 Bruins and Craig Adams with the 2006 Carolina Hurricanes - but only one has ever been drafted in the first round. Defenseman Chris Biotti (Waltham, Mass.) went 17th overall to Calgary in 1985.

Louis Leblanc won't pull on a Crimson sweater until the fall, but this month, he is already in a position to make himself part of Harvard hockey lore.
