CAMBRIDGE — The Frozen Four is loud, especially when the
home team happens to be chasing college hockey’s Holy Grail.
The noise isn’t what has stuck in Ted Donato’s mind for
20 years, though. Quite the opposite.
“It was probably the most enjoyable silence I’ve ever
been around,” he said, “the quietness of the building
after Eddie Krayer scored the winning goal.”
That was in 1989 when Krayer’s backhander found the back of
the net in overtime of the NCAA championship game, giving Harvard a
4-3 win over Minnesota – in St. Paul, no less – and a
special place in the hearts of anyone who bleeds Crimson.
