Sabres Secure Services of Moore

Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have acquired former Harvard forward Dominic Moore from Toronto in exchange for a second-round selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. This is the draft pick previously acquired from Edmonton in the Ales Kotalik trade.

Moore (8/3/1980, 6’0”, 188 lbs.) had 41 points (12+29) in 63 games for the Maple Leafs this season, already posting career highs in goals, assists and points. Moore is also 15th in the NHL with 552 faceoff wins.

A native of Thornhill, Ont., Moore has 96 points (34+62) in 287 career games with the NY Rangers, Pittsburgh, Minnesota and Toronto.

Moore played his college hockey at Harvard, and was originally selected by the NY Rangers in the 3rd round (95th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
