McCafferty Cherishes Beanpot Tradition
The following article featuring Harvard forward Brian McCafferty appeared in the February 1 issue of the Boston Herald.

Harvard co-captain Brian McCafferty was just a young lad when his
association with the Beanpot began.
“I have two old brothers and every year my dad would get us
tickets, and I’d get out of school a little bit early and
come down for the 5 o’clock game and stay for the late
one,” said the Lexington native, whose father, Kevin, and
brother, Brendan, played football for the Crimson and whose older
brother, Kevin Jr., skated three seasons for Harvard.
“Definitely it’s been a tradition in our household. I
think it translates to everyone and it’s been a special part
of my life growing up.
“The first time I played in it we were playing BU in an 8
o’clock game, actually, and I remember warming up and being
underneath (the stands) in the Garden. Everything sort of hits you
all at once with the crowd. You see everybody out there. It kind of
takes your breath away when you first step out on the ice and see
all the faces of the little kids. It’s something special for
those first few strides that you take.”
