If you look at the statistics leading up to the opening round of the Beanpot tournament tonight at the TD Banknorth Garden, particularly the scouting reports on the first game between Boston University and Harvard, it would be easy to assume the matchup bodes poorly for the Crimson. The team is 5-11-4 overall and 5-6-4 in ECAC play. The Terriers, on the other hand, are 19-5-1 overall and 12-5-1 in Hockey East. Harvard has scored just 44 goals and allowed 68. BU has generated 93 goals while giving up 47.

Of Harvard's five victories, only one has come in the last 14 games (1-9-4) and that was a 3-1 win over Union Friday night.

But this being the Beanpot, where anything can happen and often does, Crimson coach Ted Donato believes underestimating his squad would be a mistake.
