Panthers' Welch Returns to Practice
The following article featuring former Harvard standout Noah Welch appeared in the February 27 issue of the Miami Herald.
Injured defenseman Noah Welch -- out since fighting Montreal's Tom Kostopoulos on Oct. 16 -- practiced with his teammates for the first time Tuesday, another step toward his return to the Panthers' lineup.
Welch, acquired from the Panthers before last season's trade deadline, said his shoulder still felt weak, but that the coming days of practice would go a long way toward strengthening it.
''It's tough to say because [Tuesday] was the first day I really battled,'' Welch said.
"Stuff seems a lot faster than it did before. The good news it will slow down the more I practice.''
