Blue Jackets Promote MacDonald
COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled former
Harvard forward Craig MacDonald from the Syracuse Crunch,
Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate, club General
Manager Scott Howson announced December 27.
MacDonald, 31, has collected eight goals and 11 assists for 19
points with 33 penalty minutes in 31 games with the Crunch this
season. He is tied for the club lead in goals, ranks second in
points and is third in assists.
The Antigonish, Nova Scotia native registered 2-9-11 and 16
penalty minutes in 65 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning in
2007-08, setting career highs in assists, points and games played.
He has tallied 10-23-33 and 91 penalty minutes in 229 career NHL
games with Carolina, Florida, Boston, Calgary, Chicago and Tampa
Bay.
Hartford's third pick, 88th overall, in the 1996 Entry Draft, he
has split the past 10 seasons between the NHL and AHL, where he has
recorded 84-146-230 and 419 penalty minutes in 344 career games
with New Haven, Lowell, Omaha, Norfolk and Syracuse. He also played
two seasons at Harvard University, collecting 13-20-33 and 30
penalty minutes in 66 games from 1995-97.
