Season Outlook: Crimson Set to Contend Again
The Harvard men’s hockey team ended last season in a
familiar setting, playing in the title game of the ECAC Hockey
Championship for the sixth time in seven years. This year’s
Crimson, though young with 16 freshmen and sophomores on the
roster, is heavy on talent, is led by a senior class that won a
league title as freshmen and features 10 players who skated in last
season’s ECAC final. Harvard will look to go a step further
this time around and make it back to the NCAA tournament for the
sixth time in eight seasons.
The Crimson’s season goals, however, involve more than just
the postseason. Harvard will look to contend for an ECAC Hockey
regular-season title, a task that starts with the season opener
Oct. 31 at home against Dartmouth.
“We recognize there’s a certain growth curve that
needs to take place early in the season,” said Ted Donato,
The Robert D. Ziff ’88 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Ice
Hockey. “We are optimistic that our improvement and overall
talent level will enable us to contend for another ECAC
title.”
