Cavanagh Nets First NHL Point in 36 Seconds

LOS ANGELES -- Like nearly every player making his NHL debut, Tom Cavanagh was hoping to make a good first impression.

"Hopefully, I can just step in and help out any way I can," said Cavanagh, a Rhode Island native called up from the Sharks' development team in Worcester.

That he did. Just 36 seconds into his first game, Cavanagh had an assist on Joe Thornton's 29th goal of the season.
