Bernakevitch to Play in Italy
Former Harvard standout Brendan Bernakevitch has joined the HC
Val Pusteria Wolves (Italy), it was announced June 3 on
European Hockey.Net. Bernakevitch spent the 2007-08 season with the
Tilburg Trappers (Netherlands).
A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Bernakevitch registered 36
goals and 34 assists in 35 games with the Trappers in 2007-08.
In nine playoffs games, he compiled three goals and five assists.
The 2004 ECAC Hockey Championship Most Outstanding Player, Former Bernakevitch amassed 24 goals and 41 assists for 65 total points in 116 games for the Crimson from 2001 through 2005.
After concluding his collegiate career, Bernakevitch spent the 2005-06 season with the Manchester Monarch and Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL), and the 2006-07 season with the South Carolina Stingrays of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). He tallied 18 goals and 18 assists in 67 games with the Stingrays.
