Richter Named All-New England
BOSTON -- Harvard sophomore goaltender Kyle Richter has been named a Division I New England All-Star by the New England Hockey Writers.
Richter, one of two All-New England goalies, will be honored, along with the rest of the All-Stars and New England award-winners, at the New England Hockey Writers annual awards banquet Wednesday, April 16 at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass.
The New England nod is the latest in string of accolades for Richter. He earned the Ken Dryden Award as the top goaltender in ECAC Hockey and was named to the All-ECAC Hockey and All-Ivy League first teams. He was a three-time ECAC Goalie of the Week selection this season and earned Hockey Commissioners' Association national Player of the Month honorable mention in November.
Richter ranks 14th nationally in goals-against average (2.19) and save percentage (.923). The Calgary, Alta., native was even better in league play, pacing all ECAC netminders with a 1.82 goals-against average and .935 save percentage against conference opponents. He posted a 17-13-4 record and three shutouts, all against league opponents.
